The good at Shawaya was delicious. The owner gave my son and I some samples to try. I thought the chicken was better than the beef but my son liked the beef better. The shawarma chicken was perfectly seasoned, not too spicy. It was will cooked and juicy without being underdone. The owner had some lamb being readied but we didn't want to wait the 15 minutes, will try it next time. Their pita was light and well made. Their hummus was well done although I like it a little more spiced. The restaurant is in a strip mall so not much atmosphere but it was clean and well maintained. There is sufficient but limited table seating indoors and outside but most of their business seems to be carry out. My first experience with Saudi dishes in the US, and it was very good. I highly recommend them.

Shawaya has been worth the wait! The Chicken shawarma was super delicious! The Saudi pickles were really good and added a great crunch to it, and the sauce was really flavorful. Also tried their Lamb, 10/10!! I would highly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious, and the owner was very respectful and treated us exceptionally well. The kunafa was the best I’ve ever had in Virginia, and the mint tea was fantastic. I highly recommend visiting this place.

I tried the lamb mandi and was blown away. It tastes just like the Gulf. The rice had a lot of depth that you can't tell just by looking at it. Extremely flavorful. The crown jewel was of course the lamb. This is what takes it to another level. The lamb is incredibly succulent and young. I simply haven't tried any lamb like it in this area and reminded me of the Middle East. The place is also super clean, which is a huge plus, as some comparable places selling the same cuisine in the nova area simply aren't. This is a place to go if you want great food.
